Semapedia
September 25, 2007 in Weblogs by Jonathan
I can’t remember how but I found this amazing application called Semapedia. My first thought was to keep it secret but after a while I thought this needs spreading around.
So here is a link and here is a screen shot:
Basically what you do is go to Wikipedia look up a famous building or landmark or a piece of architecture where you are. Then get the URL for the building or place or whatever it is and then enter it into Semepedia.
The application then creates a bar code with from the URL.
You then get a link to the bar code as a .pdf which you can print onto a sticky label. You then go to the location, building or national monument and stick the bar code on it (with the permission of the owner of course…)
Now what’s the point of that you might ask? OK, someone comes along later that day or that year or two years later and they take their Mobile phone and using it’s bar code reading software – see picture – then
you get an automatic connection to the Wiki page with the information about the place, building or whatever it is.
How cool is that?
Basically it’s about tagging the real world.
This is the end

Dull (rated 1 star)
September 23, 2007 in Film by Jonathan
What can one say about this dull, portentous, houmourless, woodenly acted, unconvincing, tedious, Deliverance wannabe and thoroughly boring movie?
Well, avoid it I suppose and do something more interesting.
Actually one question that sprung to mind when starting to watch this was, “Is Australian film the new French film now that French film seems to be more like American film?”
