My initial idea is for a ‘one size fits all’ or univerasal vacuum cleaner bag. One of my bug bears is the variety of different bags needed for each cleaner, even cleaners of the same make. A quick Google search does on the words ‘universal vacuum cleaner bag’ returns no results.

I am starting the Open University course T307 Innovation: designing for a sustainable future.

This course is about how innovation occurs and becomes economic and good for business. A main theme of the course is about how to develop innovative products increasingly need to be sustainable in construction and use of materials and their disposal.

A lot of the course requires me to use the internet to search for products and materials. It struck me that a weblog would be a good medium for me to track my progress, make notes and keep a diary of how the course is progressing.

A core part of the course is a project to develop an innovative idea, possibly into a product. This project  can  either be carried out individually or in a group. A requirement is for me to keep a ‘design diary’ showing progress over the course.

This blog will consititue my design diary.
